Very nasty stomach bug going around…

There appears to be a pretty bad stomach flu in our area. Lots of nausea, chills and cramps… headache too.

If I were you…  I’d make sure that you have Chicken Noodle and other broth-like soups in the house. Bread for toasting and it seems that Cream of Wheat is soothing and gives some nourishment. Hot tea is a plus. Ready Rice from Uncle Bens is convenient — (90 seconds in the microwave) and it makes a good slurry with College Inn Chicken Broth.  I also bought a container of HerbOx Bouillon. I don’t know how much this bug will be going around but you’ll need to have fluids — Ginger Ale and light fruit juices available. The fructose will help with the nausea. I also bought Emetrol, Cola Syrup and some sort of chewable tablets that seemed to help. I was the care giver since last Thursday night — but I also headed for the Pepcid complete this morning. Got both a headache and what feels like being really hungry… But I’m not… I know — not pleasant — especially with the holidays here and all. I don’t think you’d want to expose anyone to this if you can avoid it. Hope that you don’t have to experience it. I stuck a few links in the text.

FYI.

NASA Image of the day
Curiosity at 'Cumberland'

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity used its front left Hazard-Avoidance Camera for this image of the rover's arm over the drilling target "Cumberland" during the 275th Martian day, or sol, of the rover's work on Mars (May 15, 2013). The rover team plans to use Curiosity's drill to collect a powdered sample from the interior of the rock for analysis by laboratory instruments inside the rover. This is the mission's second rock-drilling target. The rover drove from its position beside the first drilling target, "John Klein," to its position beside Cumberland with drives of 121 inches (308 centimeters) on Sol 273 (May 13) and 26.6 inches (67.5 centimeters) on Sol 275. Curiosity's total odometry on Mars is now 2,385 feet (727 meters). Image credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech
