Welcome Rob -

Thanks for taking time to write - It is fantastic to hear from you. Hope that you and all of your family are doing well. I read your bio on WFMZ's website and see that you have a lot going on there. I've been trying to get out and paint for more than a week. We hit a max of almost 110 degrees on the deck here last week. I'm not too tolerant of the heat so it didn't help productivity - it was pretty much too hot to do anything. I remember the pine woods that we used to hike through. Nothing smells quite like the pine needles roasting in the summer warmth.

Astronomy was/is a wonderful endeavor. Seeing the rings of Saturn - Moons of Jupiter. Now all you do is double-click in your database and the latitude, longitude and elevation (as well as tracking) are all worked out for you. I sort of enjoyed picking through the star charts myself. I sure see a big difference as you travel away from this area and the light polution. It's all still up there. Just a bit hazier to see. Hope to hear more from you!!!

Bill! Your old, old pal Rob Vaughn here. Thanks for the kind words and the happy memories. So glad to have run across your blog. Wonderful. I've been "finding" some old friends online --- I mean, computers seem to fill my existence and drive me crazy sometimes...but they're also pretty great.

I remember our telescope days...and I just mentioned you to my wife as we walked in the woods the other day: told her I had a couple of friends who would go exploring the woods of the Watchung Reservation with me...Dick Ryden...and Bill Beauchamp. Fun times. Glad to see you're doing well and fulfilling the promise of your talent in art. God bless.
